Mining Facilitation Services in Indonesia

Mine Planning is a comprehensive study consisting of three very important stages, each contributing to the successful development and operation of a mine. Because of the difficulties of doing business in Indonesia, finding one’s way through the maze of customs, traditions and bureaucracy is often mired with misinformation, misunderstandings and misrepresentations. Invariably, investors will need to have very deep pockets unless they can obtain professional help from experienced industry personnel who know how to FACILITATE the Start-up of Mining Projects.

We are a group of specialists who can offer all of the skills and experience to make sure your mining project is off to a very sound start. A key facet to our services is transparency, ensuring you, our client, a complete and timely understanding of the progress of your project.

The three stages of Mine Planning :

Conceptual Study

This study is usually prepared by the investor, transforming the concept of a project into an investment. Capital and operating costs are broad estimates based on accepted historical data.

Preliminary Study

This study falls between the conceptual study and the feasibility study. It is not used to make investment decisions, however, it is used to justify whether a feasibility study should be undertaken. This study can be prepared in-house, but unless you have first-hand Indonesian experience it is recommended that you seek the assistance of Indonesian specialists consultants. This is where The Maintek-Rayhan Partnership can make a difference for you.

Feasibility Study

This detailed study defines the scope of work and the level of investment after considering start-up and production costs. The levels of production, the value of the ore, the amount of investment and the return on investment are other key elements to this study. If the investor is a mining company much of the feasibility study is prepared in-house. However, in the event that the investor is not a mining company or requires an independent consultant’s study, this study may be prepared in conjunction with those who prepared the preliminary study.

Our team of professional mining executives are able to collate, analyse and disseminate the salient features of a Preliminary Study, including but not limited to:

• Concept – an overview of the property including location, what is to be achieved from the property, exploration costs, production quantities and qualities, scope of work, work methodology, costs, output and potential revenues, haul road and other necessary infrastructures necessary to facilitate the movement of ore and, the players in the process,

• Results – an overview of the following detailed parts of the study,

• Ore tonnage and grade - encompassing brief technical notes on geological structure, drilling and sampling results, leading to the determination of tonnages and grades of ore,

• Mining production schedule – the scope of works including early works, mining production, logistics, storage and handling, outputs of products,

• Capital cost estimate – the cost to get the mine to production stage and the costs of rehabilitation, post-mining.

• Land titles – one of the most critical issues is to ensure that the relevant land titles can be obtained. Without the necessary permits, licenses etc. the mine cannot operate and the haulage road cannot be used to haul. The viability of the mine is predicated on this issue.

By thoroughly examining and addressing the above issues, we can facilitate the way for the feasibility study.

Once the Feasibility Study is completed, accepted and actioned we can help you in the next phase of your venture, Mining Project Start-up Facilitation.

This phase is critical to getting the mine operational in good time.

We specialize in the infrastructure construction work needed to start mining:

- haul road design and construction management,
- mine and port site land clearance works,
- mine and port site infrastructure construction,
- mine and port site camp accommodation and related facilities,
- evaluation of equipment required for early works.

As Construction Manager, we are able to take the early works phase up to the hand-over of the project to the mine manager. If need be, we will evaluate and recommend a suitable mine manager.
